Set in 1950s Czechoslovakia, a young man (Vašek) starts working in an isolated quarry, surrounded by a group of rough, hyper-masculine laborers. Amid the brutal rhythm of work and violence, he becomes drawn to one of his coworkers — a man whose strength hides a quiet vulnerability. Between them grows a fragile, wordless connection, unfolding in fleeting gestures and secret glances. When the quarry’s brutal hierarchy escalates to a life-threatening act, Vašek must decide whether to protect the man he cares for or
to preserve his own safety. In that moment, his inner conflict between desire and fear comes to the surface, revealing how even in the harshest place, tenderness can become an act of defiance.
